Kasargod: Chopping Off Lecturer's Palm – Policemen Recover Important Documents

Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jul 7: Reportedly, the policemen have recovered some important documents relating to the incident in which a palm of P J Joseph, lecturer of Newman College, Todupuzha, was chopped off on Sunday last, accusing him of setting an internal examination question paper that contained blasphemous remarks about the prophet. The lecturer’s thigh was also stabbed by an eight-member gang, members of which wielded lethal weapons and bombs, when he was about to return home from church.

Based on the information that Popular Front of India (PFI) activists were involved with the incident, the policemen had raided the home of the Ernakulam district unit secretary of PFI on Tuesday. Several documents and CDS, which reportedly include a few relating to treason, are said to have been recovered by the raiding party. The documents are being verified by a team headed by the deputy superintendent of police, Muvattupuzha. In the meanwhile, district rural superintendent of police, T Vikram, said that Rashid, a PFI activist and friend of K K Ali, who is the owner of the van used by those who attacked Joseph, had posed death threat to circle inspector, Famous Verghese. The policemen raided the house of Rashid, but could not find him there, it is learnt.

Two PFI activists, Jaffer (29) and Ashraf (37), have been arrested by the policemen, relating to the above incident. They were produced in a court, which remanded them to judicial custody for two weeks.

The severed palm of Joseph, which was recovered by the policemen from the spot, has in the meanwhile, been joined through a surgery.

When people lost their humanity, whatever religion they do belong (the killers have no religion) they can be turned as totally evil, and act worse than wild animals. What a cruel and despicable act of  annibalism!

Events taking place in the highly literate state of India makes it so painful and bewildering to read.

Govt should ban such organizations and take strict action against such people. Really surprised to see that there is only one comment. This is what I call pseudosecularism. Irrespective of religion, sect, nationality we should agree a right thing as right and wrong as wrong and condemn it. We should first be good human beings, then comes religion.

Aboobaker Uppala, while appreciating your perfect response to the above, I wish to put forth my views as follows.-

Those who know the teachings of Islam,(Muslims included) will understand that this incident has nothing to do with Islam. Unfortunately,it is not a secret, that, there are some Muslims, who are referred to as," following deviant ideology," who may be doing things against the accepted teachings of Islam.

If the investigations prove, this to be true, then the Muslims should themselves take action against those who are spoiling the name of Islam as well as of Muslims

Youth is lost in the young. People mature too late. By the time they realize that all religions are buisnesses like syndicate bank, canara bank , it's time to die. religion is sold to poor, young and illiterates.Guys at the top are millionaires.Examine yourself and religion falls like a house of cards.only solution read and do good.if possible do not teach or brain wash your young ones.let the culprits be punished whether they are preists, mullahs or matadipathies. speedy recovery to the professor.

Rightly said Mr. Aboobaker Uppala, the communal parties are a real curse. For the ignorance of one stupid person a whole community bears the brunt. What do people gain by blaspheming religion or criticising any religion. No religious books teaches us to accuse any religion. We as Indians, with a country so wonderful with all religion existing hand in hand is like God's most beautiful garden filled with beautiful flowers. Why do people create unrest among other religion? It is such a shame that these hoodlums are always up to such heinious acts.
What does one gain by taking law into ones own hands. With proper intercession, discussions and so on ones doubts can be cleared. We as human beings have to learn to live with love for one another irrespective of which religion one belongs to, for this is the ultimate teaching in every religion. Love conquers every evil and victory is won through love. By taking negative actions into hands, a person not only instills unrest among communities, he/she also invokes God's wrath upon onself. We are at the beginning of the dark age. Let us repent and love and respect one another...

What we call this shamefull incident?TALIBANISM?GOONDAISM?TIT FOR TAT?These two muslim names mentioned (Jaffer & Ashraf)connected with the Incident, they have nothing to do with Islam. They are the black sheeps of the community.Definitely, their act is against the Holy book(QURAN)and the teachings of the Prophet(PBUH).In the holy book our creator commanding us"THE GOOD AND EVIL CANT BE EQUAL.YOU REPEL THE EVIL WITH SOMETHING WHICH IS FAR BETTER"(Holy Quran,Chapter 41/Verse,34.

If the lecturer of newman college made blasphemous remarks against the prophet, then it is the duty of this community members to clear his misconception by debate or by dialogue.Other wise the law of this country should take place. These communal parties from all the religions are the curse of this country. They all are the same part of a coin.

This incident has shown the true colour of media (especially electronic)in India. There was just a passing reference and nothing more.If it were a case of someone throwing stones at MF Hussain's picture, there would have been debates in the leading news channels.Thats Indian media for you.
