Bangalore, Jul 8 (DC): Former BJP state president, D.V. Sadananda Gowda has been mounting pressure on party leaders and Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to give him a plum post for the service he has rendered to the party. He has reportedly demanded the post of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) chairman.

Sources in the party said that a week ago, a few BJP leaders from the Vokkaliga community had met at transport minister R. Ashok’s residence where they felt, Mr Gowda should be rewarded for his tremendous effort to save the government during the crisis that hit the party and the government last November. Their wish has already been conveyed to Yeddyurappa, sources said.

Earlier, Gowda was upset with the chief minister for not getting him the post of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) chairman. Protesting against this, he resigned from the KMF director’s post a couple of weeks ago.

Mr Yeddyurappa reportedly assured the Chikmagalur MP that his request would be considered after the legislature session.  Gowda however said that considering his seniority and service, he should be rewarded with the top post in the BDA, sources said.
