Mangalore, Jul 9: Almost all the places within the twin-districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi got temporary reprieve from rains on Thursday July 8. Comparatively, the rainfall was heavy in Beltangady, while the other areas recorded a lot less rainfall. Dharmasthala recorded the highest rainfall of seven cms. The rainfall varied between four and seven cms in all places, with several places enjoying sunny weather till afternoon.

Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk also heaved a sigh of relief after having been battered by heavy rains over the last couple of weeks. The meteorological department has predicted normal to heavy rains in the coast and southern hinterlands during the next two days, with normal rainfall in northern hinterlands.

On Thursday night, however, several places in the two district received heavy rains.
