Pejawar Mutt Seer Worried over Hindu Terrorism

Bangalore, Jul 11 (DHNS): Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji on Sunday expressed concern over growing Hindu terrorism in the country.

Speaking at the 70th birth anniversary of veteran leader M P Prakash, he said whether it is Islamic or Hindu terror, the act of terrorism should be condemned. “Terrorism has become a menace in the country. It should be curbed at any cost,” he stated.

He, however, said that Hindu terrorism has taken birth only to counter Islamic terrorism. Like naxalism, both Islamic and Hindu terrorism should be condemned. “I appeal to intellectuals to condemn both Hindu and Islamic terrorism,” he added.

Hinduism and secularism are two different things. “I am a secular person. I am a born socialist and strictly follow principles laid down by Mahatma Gandhi. At the same time I believe in Hinduism,” Pejawar pontiff said.

Referring to unseemly incident in the Legislative Assembly on Friday, he said: “Whether it is Vidhana Soudha or outside, goondagiri should not be tolerated. Instead we must all follow Gandhigiri,” he said.

Eshwarappa walks out

Just a mention of Hindu terrorism was enough for State BJP President K S Eshwarappa to lose his cool.

He abruptly walked out of the function when JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy expressed concern over rising Hindu terrorism in the Country.

Medical Education Minister Ramachandra Gowda too walked away with his party president.

Kumaraswamy, during his speech, was explaining how some organisations are spreading terrorism in the name of Hindutva in the country. Eshwarappa then interrupted him and warned that he would walk out if he continues to speak anything against Hindutva.

When the former chief minister continued with his speech, Eshwarappa walked away, much to the surprise of one and all. Congress leader Siddaramaiah tried to pacify him, but in vain.

House issue unites ex-Janata leaders

Friday’s unseemly incidents in the Legislative Assembly appears to have brought leaders of erstwhile Janata family in the State together.

Opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah and JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy, on Sunday advocated the need for unity among leaders of erstwhile Janata party to fight criminalisation of politics.

Speaking at the celebration of the 70th birthday of veteran leader M P Prakash, Siddaramaiah said the leaders have to work together against growing criminalisation and use of money power in politics. “Talk of re-uniting all Janata Parivar leaders may be far-fetched, but the time has come for all of them to work together to fight criminalisation of politics,” he stated.

Be it Siddaramaiah, KPCC President R V Deshpande, JD(S) Working President P G R Sindhia, former minister M P Prakash, MLAs Amaregouda Byapura, H S Mahadeva Prasad, most of the leaders on the dais at the Jnanajyoti auditorium in the Central college, were associated with erstwhile Janata party.

“Never in the history of State Legislature, did such an incident happen. It is an attack on democracy. Politicians from Bellary are doing all wrong things in the name of dharma,” he further said, indirectly referring to the way Bellary Reddy brothers and their followers behaved in the Assembly on Friday. He, however, ruled out the possibility of reviving the erstwhile Janata Party.

Request for leadership

Kumaraswamy went a step ahead and urged M P Prakash to take the leadership to cleanse the spoilt political atmosphere in the State. “Bellary politics has done a lot of damage to the State...I request all Janata Parivar leaders to join hands and fight this menace,” he stated.

Deshpande said people should take utmost care while electing their representative, lest criminals sneak into legislatures using their money power, as it has been happening of late.

This apart, all leaders, including Minister for External Affairs S M Krishna, BJP State President K S Eshwarappa, and Pejawar Mutt pontiff  Visvesha Theertha hailed Prakash as a friendly and a multi-faceted person. Prakash was felicitated on the occasion.

In a society any one who breaks the law of the land is an enemy of the society. and he should be punished according to law and reformed if possible.Your statement love your enemy and the biblical references do not match the topic in discussion combating "terrorism." Let me tell all of you very loudly and clearly. There is no concept of violence and terorism in any releigion. If any one follows or beleives in any form of terrorism or violence then he does not belong to any relogion. Please dont give or label to any terrorist any religious color. Terrorists just follow some ideologies. They are made up of some sick minds and the members belong to all communities.

If we see naxals, they are made up of people from all faiths. Dont call hindu ort muslim terrorism, just call terrorism. Secondly the political parties and some relgious leaders have always promoted violence and devision in the society based on their ideologies and were successful in spreading hate. These clergies have successfully created and blessed some fundamental organisation who promote hate and violence in the society, in the name of religion and on the pretext of pretecting the faith, which is all bogus claim. These clergies must realise that their patronage to these fundamental organisations shall only result in terrorism in the long run and it would be very diffcult for them to curb terror.

Instead of spreading peace, love and harmony, they only spread hate and devision and eventully our society is heading towards selfr destruction for which the political leaders and religous leaders/pontiffs are to be held responsible and these instigators must be booked and sent to jail and should be eliminated from the society should we need a peaceful society for our next generation

Can the Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians hate each other persecute each other, kill each other and finish off each others population? Those people who think are very naïve, ignorant and are evil possessed. Jesus says to love our enemies Matthew5:
    44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you Matthew 5:45
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: FOR HE MAKETH HIS SUN TO RISE ON THE EVIL AND ON THE GOOD, AND SENDETH RAIN ON THE JUST AND ON THE UNJUST. Matthew 5: 46. FOR IF YE LOVE THEM WHICH LOVE YOU, WHAT REWARD HAVE YE? DO NOT EVEN THE PUBLICANS DO THE SAME?

eyes. Until our own life and our relative's or friend's life is taken away through terrorism,
we will not feel the pain.

How we can stop this madness of the century? People of all faiths must come together and take
an initiative that they will fight against any terrorist in their own religion. Religion must be an avenue and tool to bring peace, but some diabolical sections of the society took swords and guns to attain their evil goals under the disguise of religion.

Mr Bhat, you mean to say that attacks by Hindu extremists had a purpose while the attacks by Muslim fundamentalists are irrational and unwarantaed. You also seem to say that Hindu terrorism is the necessity created by Muslims or whoever. But do you know who who should be attributed to the birth and rise of the so called Muslim terrorism in India?

I've always maintained that Advani is the father of Muslim terrorism in India. It was his Yathra which culminated in the destruction of Babri Masjid. I don't think that there were any terrorist activities by Muslims before 1990 in India. So in your own words, Muslim terrorism in India was started to avenge the demolition of Babri mosque which has continued unabated till now.

Hindu terrorism is aimed at teaching lesson. So when Hindus are busy teaching lesson to Muslims and vice versa, who are the pupils? Whom are we teaching? Don't think that only Hinduism has gone through atrocities. Every religion at one point or the other has gone through similar dark period. The dominant religion of one region always in one way or the other inflicts atrocities on the less dominant relgion that exists there even today. Survival of fittest is not just limited to human beings but even to environments, religion, culture and other aspects that are related to human beings. Hinduism, Christianity or Muslims are no exception for this.

The religion of peace spreads like cancer. Its effect are also ironically similar to cancer. Initially there are few cancer cells. Nobody is able to notice. These multiply rapidly and spread to other organs. At this point symptoms begin to appear. People many a times reject this symptoms as minor and something not to worry. After this the cancer has spread far and wide, now it is destroying organs one by one. The person now realizes that he/she has cancer and is in last stage. At this point there are few if any medications available. End is inevitable.
By the similie, India is in Stage 2. Cancer is spreading but still organs are working. Our leaders are denying any threat(secular leaders) to India's future.

3,000,000 Bangladeshi Hindus Killed during the Pakistan-Bangladesh war in 1971.

Mr Bhat, Mumbai, strange is your talk. Don't limit terrorism to one particular religion. Whoever terrorises his neighbour is terrorist and going by this count, you know well who could be deemed as terrorist. Who said there is no Hindu terrorism or Christian terrorism? Don't just brush off Nanded, Malegaon or Mecca Masjid blasts as stray incidents.

This might be small but it has the potential of growing bigger if not nipped in the bud. Christians are neither ailen to terrorism. For centuries Christians terrorised the world under various forms and we all know why Pope John Paul II sought pardon from all years back. Terror groups are in every religion and you just can't blame Muslims for this. When I start imposing my religion, convictions and ideals on my neighbour, I become terrorist, no matter who I am. When the 'DOs and don'ts'of one religion are heaped on the other religion and individual, terrorism begins.

One has to be very clear that terrorism is the direct fall out of religion that has element of extremism and fundamentalism within. Terrorist activities have nothing do with culture, ethnicity or nationality but they are directly and only linked to religion. The only common friend for terrorism and religion is politics. This the reason why the heads of religion can be dangerous when they get into politics' domain and vice versa. This is a venomous cocktail which can blow off not just one community but entire humanity.

First of all, let us stop attaching religion to terrorism. There are no Muslim or Hindu terrorists, there are only terrorists - unfortunately they have Muslim or Hindu names.Secondly, Swamiji's justification - really unfortunate. A wrong doing cannot be undone by another wrong doing. Also, don't you think these so called "Islamic terrorists" too will have justifications to prove their acts? Even Osama Bin Laden will have his own justifications -should we nod our heads?

I it as a trick used to gain political mileage & no true Hindu will support hatred of other religion. Swamiji's concern about Hindu terrorism is quite true because terrorism never protects any religion, but, damages the very concept & image of it. I appreciate the comments of Felix F., India/Ksa.As he rightly written, everyone in this world should oppose terrorism, without any caste/creed/religion. Terrorism is a cancer which will kill the body by taking the help of the Body.

The recent Example is Kerala : where the Prof's hands were chopped in the name of religion.

By making this as Muslim country, whether the Muslims will be happy. You see the situation in Pakistan/Taliban. Extremists try to take the control and the life of even Muslims becomes miserable.

No one in any religion likes terrorism, except the extremists, who do not have any job and Terrorism itself is their means of Life.

THE PERSON WHO CREATE TERROR IS CALLED AS TERRORIST doesnt matter which caste he or she belongs to.No need to plant explosives to kill people but explosive words , speaches, preachings and support also is the mannerism of Terrorist.

As we know, His Highness Pejavara swamiji is a great personality himself who got a capacity to bring any political leader on to his feet and he is respected by each and every person in the district.

Now the same Swamiji is worried for the HINDU TERRORISM .It is a shocking news indeed. It looks like he lost his confidence on him so he he is worried for the comunity.Still he got time to convert bad people into good. May Lord Krishna give him more strenght to convert the RAKSHASA PRAVRATHI into DANAVA PRAVRATHI among the followers.

No caste or relegion supported or told to be a terrorist. It is we who has become that way.It is the time for each one of us to think on what Pejavara Swamiji said anf try to live like a good human being thus make Swamiji happy.

Ronald, it is true that churches were attacked, but those acts are not called terrorist acts, but communal violance. so dont blame Swamiji for that.

Please study about terrorism & terrorists, before making any irresponsible comments on this subject. least your comments will sow the seeds of terror instead of eradicating them. While Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji has expressed concern over growing Hindu terrorism, Muslims world wide, also feel the same, about their religion. The following is a extract from arab news dated july08 - Written by a Muslim. caption Muslims:The threat within.
    Quote
For whatever reason, the cancer of extremism is fast eating into the vitals of the entire Muslim world. A lunatic fringe has hijacked their faith & claims to speak on their behalf & all Muslims can do is wring their hands in helplessness.

In their long & eventful history, Muslims have never faced a greater challenge to their identity & existence. This sickness within is far more dangerous than what they confront from without.

Where are Muslim voices of reason & sanity? Where are our leaders, our Ulema & intellectuals when we need them so badly? Why don't they come out in the open to speak out against this distortion of our faith & morbid celebration of death? If their voices aren't heard, they must shout from the rooftops but speak they must. There's no other way to stop this madness. This is no time to hide.

Feels bad to see one of the only few left honest politicians like MP Prakash in this stage. For people who do not know. MP Prakash is undergoing treatment for some Cancer. May god give him strength to bear this. Mr Kumarswami or Eshwarappa, is this the stage for you to spit communalism or play politics. Its Mp Prakash"S Bday. Talk some thing about his good works and get inspired by his deeds. Then play your Hindutva or Minority card in Vidhan soudha.

When religions promote terrorism and keep their eyes closed thinking that minor dose of terrorism is
fine, they never see the danger of the far widening nature of terrorism. Now the Swamiji is telling the followers to stop the agenda of terrorism from Hinduism, but the spirit of terrorism was instilled by the
leaders, and the followers can't shake it off from the mindset.

Anyway, Swamiji's initiative is commendable. Let us hope that his followers may have a change
    of heart to stop terrorism.

Why are you worried Swamiji? Any Intellectual/ intelligence news? or somebody wants to be in news!? Long ago when Churches were attacked there might have been some problem with sick minds! People have learned to deal with such situation! I do not not see a point in your worry now, unless you were in meditation and woke up and seeing J&K probs which are quite similar!!! Wish you all the best as Gandhiwadi! You will have great success as Gandhi atleast in Karnataka!
