Very sad to see people laughing at the victim. This shows our value towards the society. All boils down to education and culture where focus is only on self than at the society or social behavior. If one carefully observes the daily phrases such as "Aayeg mande sama ijji" "mandeda ulai parthi" etc, reminds us lack of respect to others.

And interestingly, our Civil Defence or Police team does not take care to drive those spectators away.

The crowd can only make situation worse through provocation where victim has more pressure to jump than give up.

I am not sure if the Civil Defence team are trained to handle suicide cases or to break the emotions of the victim to distract from the main intention. In other countries, the Civil Defence is a responsible post where they are trained physically and physcologically to handle Gas Leak (Look at Choline leakage of Mumbai - no response by the Civil Defence wing), electrical shorts, suicidal cases, road accidents etc.

God bless one and all, hopefully there would be light at the end of the tunnel.

With high-risers increasing, it is a call to our DC, for providing the necessary skillset to the civil servants.
