Mangalore: Prediction Belied, Sunny Day in Coast

Mangalore, Jul 14: Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk, a few places in Kundapur taluk, and a few more in Beltangady taluk, were the only places in the coast to have experienced some rains on Tuesday July 13. Almost all other places had a sunny day with overcast conditions in the evening.

Sullia, Puttur and Bantwal experienced dry weather, while the city and Suratkal received some showers in the evening and at night. Kottigehara in Chikmagalur district received five cms of rain, highest in the state.

The meteorological department had predicted normal to heavy rainfall on Tuesday, but that did not happen. It has predicted rains in most places in the coastal region and some places in southern and northern hinterlands till Thursday morning.
