Mangalore, Jul 14: The district committee of the Youth Congress organized a protest in front of the office of the district deputy commissioner here on Wednesday July 14.

Bondala Jagannath Shetty, leader of the Youth Congress, addressing the protestors, derided the Chief Minister for his inability to control his party members, who misbehaved in the assembly. He demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister because of his inability to stop the unbridled illegal mining of iron ore in the state, and also his reluctance to hand over its investigation to Central Bureau of Investigation. He decried the state government for its failure on various fronts.

The protestors raised slogans against the state government. Former city mayor, Shashidhar Hegde, and several other leaders were present.

    Hi everyonr,
In Mangalore to be frank no charismatic leaders in congress. they start working for party only elections comes. That is the main drawback, even party building process is very weak. Need to push some dynamic young leaders to address the situation. You can also sense lack of unity within the party which is very unfortunate, someone seriously need to look into the matter. Youth Congress need to function on its own but should consult the party seniors for the activities undertaken.

    Nischal Rao, Manipal/London,
Appreciate your observation, let me tell you these faces have not changed since 1986 if I can remember. Kallige, Ashok Kumar DK, Harikrishna Bantwal, Sashidhar Hegde, Naveen D'souza, M.G Hegde, not one of these can bring 100 votes for the official Congress Candidate on their own. Man are we ever going to see any new Leaders in the DK Congress. The fate of Poojary is an apt example for my comment.

Are these people protesting or asking for a share in the booty, the congress started mining only for BJP to enjoy the fruits and its clear both Congress and BJP are corrupt political parties so make them weak in the next election.

CONGRESS HAS NO GOOD LEADERS IN KARNATAKA. WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ELECTING DECENT MLA'S/MP'S. DON'T BLAME THEM IF THEY MISBEHAVE!!!!!!!! NEXT ELECTION THROW THEM OUT. DAILY EXPENCE IS RS.1 CRORE AT OUR COST.
