Bangalore, July 16: Karnataka State Election Commission (SEC) on Friday announced the calendar of events for bi-elections for four zilla panchayat and 13 taluk panchayat seats. Elections would be held on August 8.

The SEC said elections to four ZP seats – Bookanakere in Mandya, Ambale in Chikmagalur, Kurthakoti in Gadag and Padmagatta in Kolar- would be held on August 8.

Elections to 13 TP seats – Kittur in Mysore, Ganjigere in Mandya, Horeyala and Koudalli in Chamarajangara, Udyavara-2 in Udupi, Tangali and Sirpura in Chikmagalur, Uppanasi in Haveri, Shirolli in Gulbarga, Kaliya in Dakshina Kannada, Hidkal in Belgaum, Asuti in Ron, and Machakandi in Bagalkote would also be held on the same day.

The Deputy Commissioners of respective districts would issue notifications on July 21.

The last day for filing nominations would be July 28. Scrutiny of nominations would take place on July 29 while the last date for withdrawal of nominations in July 31. Counting would take place on August 8, the notification said.
