Trust Distributes Scholarships to 2,500 Students


Udupi, Jul 18: G Shankar Family Trust organised a programme to distribute scholarships to as many as 2,500 meritorious students belonging to backward class studying in the schools across the district here at Hotel Shyamili on Saturday. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, G Shanker Family Trust Founder President G Shankar said the trust gives priority to education and health. School books have been distributed to as many as 3,000 students of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shimoga and Chikmagalur districts. Students should aim at self reliant and work for the cause of downtrodden in the society. Trust also aims at organising blood donation camps supporting social cause, he said.

Udupi SP Pravin Pawar said students should try to utilise the available opportunities. Parents should support the the interest of their kids and allow them to go ahead with their choices. Parents should never impose their desires on children, he said.Yakshagana artistes from undivided Dakshina Kannada were felicitated on the occasion.
