Puttur, Jul 19: Nikhila (18), daughter of the brother of a Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) corporator, who went missing from her home a few days ago, was found in Charvaka village near Kadaba on Sunday July 18. The policemen who came searching for her found that she had married Mohan (29), a native of Katta in Dolpady village, who works as a driver in Hubli.

It is learnt that Mohan had worked as a driver in Nikhila’s home, and both of them grew closer during this period. Nikhila's parents had warned both of them, after which, Mohan left the job and started working in Hubli. It is said that the two continued to love each other, and entered into registered marriage in the office of the sub-registrar, Puttur.

After Mohan asked Nikhila to come to Nelyady two days ago, they got married. The girl had completed her PUC this year, and had appeared for common entrance test. Based on a complaint filed at Chamarajpet police station in Bangalore by the parents of the girl, charging Mohan of abduction, the policemen came here. Both of them were taken to Kadaba police station. After interrogating them, they were taken to Bangalore by the policemen.

It is learnt that Nikhila completed 18 years of age on July 15 this year as per her school certificate, while she is short of this age by two months as per her birth certificate.
