Kasargod: Two Bike Riders Crushed Under Truck Wheels

Kasargod, Sep 4: Two youth, Zubair K A (21), son of B M Abdulla Kunhi from Kotekunje here, and Anees (18), son of Irbahim, from Chowki Bedradka Lakshamveedu Colony, died in a road accident on the night of Thursday September 2. Both of them were moving in a motor bike, when tragedy struck.

The accident occurred at Kallangayi in Mogralputtur near here on national highway 17. The youngsters, working as salesmen in a cloth shop here, were returning home after duty hours on a bike, when a truck loaded with fish hit their vehicle opposite Muslim League office in Kallangayi. Both of them fell on the road due to the impact, and the wheels of another lorry that was coming from behind, crushed them. They died on the spot, and the killer truck escaped. Post mortem of the bodies was conducted at the government general hospital here on Friday. Hundreds of people had gathered in the hospital premises.

A case has been registered in the police station here. Investigations are on.
