Karkala: ‘State Government Surviving on Oxygen’ – Moily

Daijiworld Media Network – Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Nov 1: Union law and justice minister, M Veerappa Moily, lampooned the state government led by BJP, commenting that its present condition is precarious and that it is now surviving on oxygen. “Congress does not believe in cutting the oxygen supply to the government. We do not to take part in covert operations to unseat the government,” he declared.

Addressing a conference of Karkala Block Congress Committee activists after installing the new office bearers at a programme held at Rajiv Gandhi Hall near the taluk office here on Sunday October 31, Moily said that his party will always take the highway to grab power and expressed the confidence that his party will rise to power by getting absolute a majority in the next election. He asserted that the Congress is not inclined to make use of internal squabbles within the BJP to topple it.

“Both Gujarat and Karnataka governments are like holes in a utensil. These governments have not been making use of the central funds, in spite of liberal aid being extended to them,” he alleged. He also termed the state government’s attempts to claim credit for various schemes under health, transport and rural development, which are funded to a great extent by the central government, as its own, through various advertisements, as shameful.

“BJP is a party with demonic ideals. Congress is an awakened party. Just like we drove away the British through freedom movement backed by truth, justice and sincerity, we now need to drive out the BJP from power. The state BJP is a divided house. Sushma Swaraj is the undisputed leader for Reddy brothers, while Arun Jaiteley and Nitin Gadkari are Yeddyurappa’s leaders,” Moily commented.

He asked senior leaders of the party to guide the young brigade, to ensure that the party resembles a flowing river, giving way for fresh blood.

Local MLA, H Gopal Bhandary, presided. District Congress president, Gopal Poojary, DCC Bank chairman, M N Rajendra Kumar, zillal panchayat vice president, Dr Santosh Kumar Shetty, block Congress president, Vidyakumar Bunnal, and various other leaders were present.

On this occasion, Nemiraj Rai Nitte, who defected to Congress from JDS, and Deju L Shetty and others, who came from BJP, were welcomed into the Congress fold.
