Bantwal: ZP President Lauds Taluk for Impressive Performance Under NREGS

Bantwal, Nov 1: Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat president, Santosh Kumar Bhandary, lauded the progress shown by the taluk in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for some schemes and inaugurating various other works that are executed within Karopady gram panchayat limits, on Sunday October 31. These programmes, which include a minor water supply scheme in Kodla, construction of gram panchayat hall in the upper floor, building of bus shelter at Mittanadka, inauguration of anganwadi building in Mittanadka and others, have been taken up by zilla panchayat, taluk panchayat and women and child development department.

Bhandary promised to upgrade all the roads in the district by using the special grants being released under the 13th finance commission. Taluk panchayat president, M Babu, presided. Taluk panchayat vice
president, Chandrahas Karkera, standing committee chairperson, Ida Suresh, and member, A Usman Karopady, spoke on the occasion.

Zilla panchayat assistant executive engineer, M Shivamurty, child development department official, Usman A, NREGS extension officer, Ganapati Muchchinnaya, and various other dignitaries were present.

Gram panchayat president, Vanaja Shetty, welcomed. Vice president, A Abdul Jaleel Karopady, proposed the vote of thanks.
