Tug-of-war Competition at Madantyar - Semblance of Religious Unity

Beltangady, Nov 1: Samanvaya Samiti, Madantyar here organized a tug-of-war competition involving people of all walks of life with the traditional dances and band procession through its streets.

The tradition that has been in practice for three years now witnesses participation of Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jains and Buddhists in great numbers.

Sacred Heart Church, Madantyar parish priest inaugurated the programme. He appreciated the new-born tradition in Madantyar that attracts thousands of people in festive gathering.

The prizes sponsored were distributed at the end of the day.

Samanvaya Samiti is active in whole of Mangalore diocese and has been active in multi-cultural programmes that helps in uplifting downtrodden and help the genuine cases that require assistance.
