Karkala, Nov 2: In an accident that took place at around 7 pm on Monday November 1 near Mala-Mulloor ghat section near here, a student died and his college mate suffered serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Shreyas (21), a student of SNM Polytechnic in Moodbidri.
The student was returning after undertaking an excursion to Hanumangundi Falls along with two of his friends, when the car in which the trio was travelling, hit a Tata Sumo vehicle. The car then smashed into a bus plying on the road.
Shreyas lost his life on the spot, while his friend, Sandesh, survived with critical injuries. Karkala rural police have taken up investigation.
