M'lore: Govt Ignored Deserving Candidates for Rajyotsava Award: U T Khader

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (PS)

Mangalore, Nov 2: MLA U T Khadar launched an attack against the ruling party BJP accusing it of betraying the people of the state with its ‘lies’.

At a press meet held at the district Congress office on Tuesday November 2, Khader lamented that all the MLAs and ministers in the state are posing as if they are the ones who implemented some of the projects, but the truth is that most of the pro-people projects have been initiated by the central government. The ministers of the state including CM Yeddyurappa are just labelling their names and misleading the people, he alleged.

The central government has been providing grants and funds to the state which has helped it to emerge second fastest developing state in the nation, he added.

Khader criticised the approach of the state government regarding the selection process for the Rajyotsava Award. He condemned the state government for neglecting deserving candidates for the esteemed award.

He claimed that people like I A Khairanna, district chief commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Boluwaru Mohammed Kunhi, a popular Kannada writer, Dakshina Kannada and Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, who contributed a lot to re-establish the blood bank in Wenlock hospital, should have been conferred the Rajyotsava award.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Santhosh Kumar Shetty and Nazeer among others were present.

Mr. Khader, Did the prominent businessman in the "business" of education in UAE deserved Padmashri award from Central government? At least this man has all the curses from the teachers working in his school - forget the parents who have no choice.
