Kasargod: Police Jeep Hits Bridge Railing - One Dies, Two Injured

Kasargod, Nov 3: After the driver of a police jeep lost control over his vehicle while negotiating a bridge, the vehicle hit the railing of the bridge, in the early hours on Tuesday November 2. A police home guard died in the accident, while two others including  a lady sub-inspector of police, suffered injuries.

The accident occurred at around 5 am near a bridge on the outskirts of the town. P Balakrishnan (47), working as police home guard, who was sitting in the back seat, was thrown to the road due to the impact of the accident. He was a resident of Vachukuduka Palery in Karivellore. He suffered serious injuries, and was rushed to the general hospital here. But, he could not be saved.

K C Vatsala (44), sub-inspector of the local police station, and police constable, Abhilash (27) were injured. They were admitted into the general hospital here. Jeep driver, Rakesh (35) escaped unhurt. The jeep was returning to its base after night patrolling, when the accident occurred.
