Mangalore, Nov 3: The meeting of the publicity and cultural committee relating to the district level Karavali Utsav being held in the city from December 22 onwards was held at the auditorium of the zilla panchayat office here recently. It was presided over by the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat.

In the meeting that was held for long, several recommendations and suggestions were received. It was decided to submit the details as well as suggestions about the participation of artistes and holding of cultural programmes, at the meeting of the core meeting. It was further decided to invite creative and interested people, for designing invitation for the Utsav.

At the preliminary stage, it was decided to hold 28 programmes in Kadri Park, including ‘Uadayaraga’, and 52 programmes at the exhibition stage during this 30-day Utsav. It was also decided to allow the six academies to present their programmes on six days at the exhibition stage. Several committees and sub-committees have been formed and preliminary meetings held, towards making the current year’s Karavali Utsav more meaningful.

The meeting of the publicity committee was presided over by the additional deputy commissioner of the district, Prabhakar Sharma. Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president, Pradip Kumar Kalkura, committee members, Narendra nayak, Kannada and culture department assistant director, Mangala V,  Nisarga Manjunath, Nityanand Shetty and Anand Nayak, participated.
