Udupi: ‘Rashtriya Sankalp Divas’ Observed

Udupi, Nov 3: October 31, the day of assassination of former Prime Minister of India, the late Indira Gandhi, is being observed as ‘Rashtriya Sankalp Divas’ all over the country. A programme on this occasion was organized on Sunday October 31 at the hall of the deputy commissioner’s office here.

District deputy commissioner, P Hemalata, paid floral tributes to the portrait of the slain leader, and spoke briefly about the late Prime Minister. Dr Gananath Yekkar, lecturer of Tenkanidiyoor College, dwelt about the ideals cherished by the late Prime Minister and her achievements.

Zilla panchayat chief executive officer, N Rajshekhar, assistant superintendent of police, Venkateshappa, deputy superintendent of police, Jayant Shetty, and municipal commissioner, Gokuldas Naik, were present.

Additional deputy commissioner, Prabhakar, welcomed and presented the programme. Tahsildar, Prasanna, proposed the vote of thanks.
