Mangalore: Kannada Rajyotsava, Poetry Session, Felicitation Held at Kinnigoli

Mangalore, Nov 3: "We should recognize all the langauages. But let us use Kannada as our mother tongue. Throughout the year let us celebrate Rajyotsava, " said Dr Kishore Kumar Rai, Kannada professor, St Aloysious College.

He was speaking on the occassion of Kannada Rajyotsava programme organized by 'Yugapurusha' and Mangalore Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishat in Yugapurusha Sabhabhavana here. Kodethoor Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, editor, Yugapurusha inaugurated the function.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat past president Harikrishna Punaroor presided.

K G Mallya, Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar, Sarvotham Anchan, president of  Mangalore Taluk Sahitya Parishat, Raghu Idkidu, president of Mangalore Taluk Chutuku Sahitya Parishad, Satish Bhandary, manager, Canara Bank of Suratkal Branch were the chief guests.

On the occassion persons who served the society in various fields were felicitated. Poetry session was conducted under the presidentship of Sumukananda Jalavalli. Many poets and poetess read their poems.

Mahesh R Nayak welcomed the guest and gathering. Sadananda Balkur proposed the vote of thanks.
