Mangalore, Nov 7: Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Research Centre, Udupi, in association with World Bunts Foundation Trust will hold a programme to release ''Bunts in history and culture'' by Mangalore University former history professor Dr B Surendra Rao at T V Ramana Pai Convention Centre on Sunday November 7.
Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde will release the book. Archeological Survey of India former joint director general Dr K V Ramesh will be the guest of honour.
The book is based on the available historical sources and an attempt to reconstruct the history of Bunts of Dakshina Kannada from the early times to the present. The team of research scholars have visited more than 200 Bunt houses and interviewed people in villages and towns from Byndoor to Kasargod for the book.
