Moodbidri, Dec 24: In an accident that occurred on Thursday December 23 afternoon, a motor bike rider died on the spot, after a private bus hit him near Todar mosque near here. He has been identified as Pravin Shetty (25), son of Sundar Shetty from Todar Mariguttu.

Harish, working in Kundapur, had come home to take part in the local festival. He was returning home after visiting Moodbidri in his bike, when he collided with a bus while trying to overtake a tempo, it is gathered.

Karunakar Shetty (30), the only son of Sadanand Shetty from Potlottu House in Kallabettu village, died on Thursday evening, after the bike he was riding, was hit by a truck loaded with boulders. The truck was moving towards Venur from the town, when the accident occurred. Immediately after the accident, a boulder fell on Shetty, grievously injuring him in the bargain. The fire brigade personnel took him to a hospital immediately, but he did not survive.

Shetty, who was earlier working for Automatrix, had later started to live at his village after his father took ill, to supervise agricultural activities.
