Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Dec 28: Speaking to reporters after canvassing for votes for the BJP in various places like Yedapadav, Tenkayedapadav, Chokkabettu, Kaikamba and other places in the district on Monday December 27 in the company of party leaders, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, exuded confidence about remarkable performance by his party candidates in the coming taluk and zilla panchayat elections.

He said that the opposition parties have been crying hoarse about the so-called misdeeds of the BJP without any basis, and that the people in general, have identified the development oriented initiatives of the state government and hence, are supporting the party to continue in power.

Palemar felt that the rural development schemes the BJP government has implemented, backed with the ideal of decentralization of power, will draw support from the people at the hustings. He claimed that Karnataka ranks second in the implementation of various central and state projects and schemes, and that the state’s performance in fields like food security, employment guarantee, distribution of rations under Antyodaya scheme, providing shelter to the needy, road development and power supply, among others, has been very good. With the help of generous grants being received by Dakshina Kannada district from the state government, he predicted that the district will emerge as a model district in the next five years.

To drive home his point, he gave figures under various schemes and projects being implemented by the state government.
