Mangalore: Liquor Sale Permitted on New Year Eve


MANGALORE, Dec 29 (TOI): Tipplers can enjoy with the State Election Commission (SEC) relaxing prohibitory orders with regard to sale of liquor on the eve of the New Year. It will be in force from Thursday 6 am to Friday 8.30 pm.

The prohibition on sale of liquor will apply to all bars and restaurants (CL 2 and CL 9 licence establishments) till 8 pm on Friday in both rural and urban limits. A release from the under-secretary, SEC stated that it has been relaxed in view of the New Year celebrations.

The prohibition will be in force on the counting day from 6 am to midnight on January 4, according to deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav.
