Udupi, Apr 6: In an insinuating statement, Hindutva leader and Udupi Government PU College Management Committee vice-president Yashpal Suvarna has suggested lapidation like in Sharia law for the six girl students of the college who fought for hijab rights accusing them of terror links.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, April 6, Suvarna said, “I had already told that a terrorist organization is behind the six hijab students. Accordingly, the Al Qaeda leader is supporting those students.
“We are facing a situation that calls for a bold and courageous chief minister and home minister who work for the progress of the country and protect the Hindu nation,” he said.
“There should be NIA investigations against the students and their parents. Muslim organisations should be pulled and thrown out from their roots. The families of those students should be boycotted. The six terrorists should be driven away from the country. The government should act within the next 24 hours,” urged Yashpal Suvarna.
“There is no use sitting and giving press statements. We can get justice only when we pull the roots instead of cutting the branches. There are suspicions of the six students identifying with a Ullal-based woman suspected to have terror links,” he said.
“They should be punished by stoning like how the guilty are done under the Sharia law. The government should wake up and act before innocent children become their victims. There should be investigations of Maimuma who paid money to the student who shouted 'Allah Ho Akbar' and the MLA. Harsha has already been murdered due to hijab controversy. Muslim organisations have given clarifications about it. Decisions should be taken immediately when such incidents occur,” he reasoned.
He said, "The matter would not have been prolonged if a decision was taken when the hijab controversy came up initially.”
“Regarding Hijab, ban on business, Azaan control, those who were responsible should be punished. We need not depend on Muslims. Muslims are not the kind who indulge in agriculture,” Yashpal Suvarna said.
