Bantwal: Anganwadi Employees Association Demands State Benefits

Bantwal, Mar 4:
The taluk committee of the Karnataka state Anganwadi Employees Association staged a protest at B C Road on Friday March 4 urging the state administration to introduce minimum wages for their services as the Anganawady workers are ready to work for eight hours a day.
 
The protesters gathered in front of the office of taluk child welfare project officer here on Friday and presented their charter of demands to the officer.
 


The protesters demanded a minimum monthly wage of Rs 9,000 for Anganawady employees and Rs 6,000 for Anganawady assistants, the status of government employees and equal pay scales, pension of Rs 1,500 per month, and other retirement benefits based on LIC schemes to provide nutritious food as that of Akshara Dasoha and others.
 
CITU-backed Anganwadi Employees Association district advisor B M Bhat, district CITU secretary Vasant Achar, CITU leaders Ramanna Vittal, Sanjeev Bangera, Sheena Bangera, Anganawady Employees Association district president Ravikala, secretary Sukanya Beltangady, taluk president Laxmi, and secretary Rajeevi Rai were present on the occasion.
