Mangaluru, Dec 13: Unknown miscreants recently altered the name of the location housing the Mangaladevi temple on Google Maps, renaming it as ‘Bolar Shaikh Ummar Saheb Compound’. The compound, located just 200 meters away from the revered temple, raised concerns among the temple management committee and devotees.

In response, the temple's management committee promptly filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner and the Cyber Crime police station. Following the complaint, corrective measures were swiftly taken, and the accurate location of the temple was reinstated on Google Maps.

The incident has stirred disappointment and frustration among temple devotees, who condemn actions that disrupt communal harmony. Demanding justice, the devotees have called for the identification and arrest of those responsible for this act that hurt religious sentiments.

Mahatobhara Mangaladevi temple holds significant cultural and religious importance in Mangaluru, and the local community remains united in preserving the sanctity of this revered site.
