Mangaluru: YIASCM organizes National Voters Day pledge programme

Mangaluru, Jan 24: The Yenepoya Institute of Arts Science Commerce and Management (YIASCM) NSS unit 10 and the department of humanities and social sciences collaborated to organize a significant event, the National Voters Day pledge programme, on January 24 at Lecture Hall 78. The programme aimed to promote awareness about the importance of voting and to encourage individuals to exercise their right to vote responsibly.

The event commenced with a welcome address by NSS programme officer Abdul Rasheed K M, who highlighted the significance of national voters’ day and emphasized the role of every citizen in shaping the democratic fabric of our nation.

The highlight of the programme was the insightful session conducted by Dr Sakeena Nasser HOD department of humanities and social sciences, who served as the chief guest for the day. Dr Sakeena Nasser shared her expertise and knowledge on the electoral process, emphasizing the power that each voter holds in influencing the democratic process. Her engaging and informative presentation served as an eye-opener, motivating the audience to actively participate in the electoral process.

The National Voters Day pledge was a pivotal aspect of the programme. Led by NSS Volunteer Saniya, participants solemnly took the pledge to uphold the principles of democracy, exercise their right to vote responsibly, and contribute to the nation's progress through active civic engagement. The pledge served as a powerful reminder of the duty and responsibility that each citizen bears towards the democratic process.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Saniya, expressing gratitude to all, the participants for their active involvement, and the organizing committee for their dedicated efforts in making the national voters day pledge programme a success.
