Mangaluru: DC inspects dilapidated highways at Nanthoor, KPT junction

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Deputy commissioner (DC) Mullai Muhilan, along with other officials, visited Nanthoor and KPT junction to inspect the condition of the highway on Tuesday, July 16.

The roads at Nanthoor and KPT junction have become completely dilapidated with potholes, posing dangers to vehicular movement and causing traffic congestion.

Nanthoor and KPT junction consistently face the issue of increasing potholes, a persistent problem that concerned authorities have failed to address with a permanent solution. Dangerous potholes have also emerged on the stretch of road from Panambur to Surathkal, leading to recent accidents.

Speaking to the media, DC Mullai Muhilan said, "Due to heavy rain, potholes have emerged at KPT and Nanthoor, causing traffic congestion. I have directed the NHAI officials and city corporation to install paver blocks at Nanthoor and implement a temporary solution to fill the potholes at KPT as well."

We could test Chandrayan 4 on this surface. Just name and shame the contractor by placing a placard instead of having political banners that make our city look terrible with political goons faces posted all over.

Kudla administration need to immediately sit down and plan alternative routes right now before they even start the flyover work. If they dont do it, there will be chaos. Please dont put people into misery. They are already facing unimaginable hardship already. Our so called toll roads are in dire straits. Nanthoor and KPT junction already clogged with traffic is now facing bad roads too. In peaks hour it takes about 1.5 hours to ply between deralakatte to Suratkal. Not a good sign for a smart city.

Imagine what will happen at nanthoor when the underpass is constructed. Maybe they should have a boat hire shop closeby.

We love these potholes, they make Mangalore adventurous. We love our MP and MLA they help us preserve these potholes. Those who want these potholes removed are anti-nationals

The issue is that there is no proper drainage system to flow the water and thats causing the potholes every year. But the authorities dont want that, if this is fixed permanently then they loose their pocket money 💰

In none of the states in India, the Contractors who build roads, are never penalized or made to re-build the damaged roads to fill the pathetic condition. Why? If 40% drains out from their pockets, what quality roads he will build?

Everyday 1000' s of vehicle pass by indrali bridge but nothing is happening. They brought girders and erection is still not happening.. For such a small bridge how much time is required. Why is no one protesting.

It would have been better if those who go on strike for every little thing would take a look at the condition of the roads. But they want votes, money, and ministerial seats. What difference does it make them if people die?

We the people have to accept each and everything in life as temporary here. Nothing is permanent in Mangalore. Safety is not a priority at all.

The road from Bendoorwell circle to Lankandy, near the Radha medicals, both sides are hopeless! More like a drive on the terrains of the moon! Looks like the corporator and MLA are both sleeping!
