Davangere, Sep 21: St. Aloysius International School and PU College hosted a vibrant celebration of Eid Milad and Ganesh Chaturthi at Fr Stany Swamy Auditorium, showcasing the institution’s commitment to interfaith harmony and cultural diversity.
The event, coordinated by Nadeem and Shameem, commenced with an interreligious prayer, setting the tone for unity and respect among the diverse beliefs represented. Javeria from II PU science delivered the welcome speech, emphasising the importance of communal harmony and the significance of celebrating both festivals together.
Distinguished guests, including Mansoor Ahamed (teacher, Gulistan-e-Mustafa HPS Davangere), Jyothir Ratna Veda Brahma Shri Laxmikant (astrologer, Harihar), and school administrators, graced the occasion.
The celebration featured cultural programmes and insightful presentations. Vaishnavi of class Vll spoke about Eid Milad's message of love and peace, while Khushi of class Vl shared the cultural significance of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Speech on Ganesh Chaturthi was by Jyotir Ratna Veda Brahma Laxmikant, an astrologer from Harihara, discussed the spiritual significance of Ganesh Chaturthi and its role in the cultural landscape. Both the keynote speeches, highlighted the relevance of Eid Milad and Ganesh Chaturthi in fostering goodwill and understanding among communities.
Fr Vinod AJ SJ, principal, St Aloysius International School, delivered an inspiring presidential speech, emphasising compassion, respect, and understanding each other and to live in harmony.
The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Mansoor Ahamed, teacher at Gulistan-e-Mustafa HPS Davanagere. Jyothir Ratna Veda Brahma Laxmikant, astrologer Harihar. Grace Noronha, school advisor; Pushpalatha Urs, principal of PU College; Fr Vinod AJ SJ principal, Sr Shanti David, vice-principal of the school, Pascal Fernandis and Mohsin Ulla, vice-principals, science dean, Nadeem Ulla and Shameem Banu the organisers of the cultural programmes, several special moments added significance to the celebration.
Varfana of II PU Arts concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
