St Agnes College organizes ‘Students Empowering Students’ interactive soft skills training

Mangaluru, Jan 13: A series of interactive soft skills training sessions titled ‘Students Empowering Students’ were conducted across various departments, catering to final-year undergraduate students on January 11. The programme stood out for its innovative approach, where students themselves took the lead as resource persons, sharing their knowledge and skills with their peers.

The sessions were designed to equip participants with essential skills to enhance their personal and professional growth, focusing on critical areas such as communication, presentation, teamwork, and professional etiquette.

Resource persons included- Rajwa Quasim A, Thanmayee Bhatt, Alice, Glory, Malvika Harish, Shreya Ravi NK, Carol, Dhriti S Amin, Ananya Aithal, Privy Dsouza, Nikitha Jasmine, Manasa, Ananya Madhu, Sunena Subbanna Rai, and Sakshi Shetty.

Each session began with an icebreaker activity. The primary focus was on key aspects of personality development, including self-confidence, verbal and nonverbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. These topics were explored through engaging activities like role-plays, debates, and games such as the whisper challenge and human knot, which not only demonstrated theoretical concepts but also promoted collaboration, critical thinking, and active participation.

A significant portion of the sessions was dedicated to grooming etiquettes, highlighting the importance of personal hygiene, professional attire, and workplace manners. Students learned about table manners, appropriate grooming practices, and dressing for interviews and corporate settings. The facilitators provided practical examples and hands-on activities, such as mock dining scenarios and dressing tips, to ensure clarity and relevance.

The final segment of the training focused on resume building, a crucial skill for career readiness. Students were guided on structuring an effective resume, showcasing their skills, achievements, and experiences. Activities such as live resume drafting and peer reviews provided practical insights and ensured immediate application of the concepts.

These sessions proved to be a significant step in preparing students for their future endeavors, equipping them with the tools necessary for personal and professional success.
