Dubai, April 23: Kanajarians living in the Emirates mainly LKAE members, their families and well-wishers came together on 21st of April 2006 to celebrate the most joyous occasion of Easter, at Dubai’s Al-Mas Hotel Apartments ballroom.  

                              
The program started at 11.30 am with a brief welcome note by MC & Vice-President Thomas Saldanha, who then led the prayer & hymns for the occasion.  


                            
LKAE President Lawrence D’souza in his welcome speech thanked everyone for accepting the invitation and making it possible. He then briefed about the recent activities of the association, that include contribution towards poor children’s education back home, which is currently availed by 7 students from Kanajar alone. As the new members introduced themselves to the audience, they were presented with a flower bouquet. 


                             
Various games, konkani songs and group dances were part of the entertainment program that was nicely choreographed by Melwyn Mendonca.

The lunch prepared by Canara Restaurant was served at 2.30 pm and after the traditional bingo game the program was concluded at 4.00 pm, with Melwyn proposing vote of thanks. In his short speech Melwyn thanked all the committee members as well as sponsors, for making this event a memorable one.                          

The program was ably conducted by Thomas Saldanha.
