Mumbai, Aug 23: The first annual meeting of the Maharashtra Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat, was held at Matunga west here recently.
S T Vijay Kumar Thingalaya, president of the Parishat, presided over the meeting.
Ramesh Shivapura, honorary secretary, read out the last year’s annual report, while Devdas Salian, treasurer, detailed on the accounts. Dr Sanjeeva Shetty, advisor, suggested some steps to teach the younger generation about art and culture. Surendra Kumar Hegde advised on accepting other associations involved in promoting art, as members of the Parishat.
Members Tara Bangera, G T Acharya, Mohan Marnad, Omdas Kanangar, Surendra Mundkuru and Sunder Moodbidri, spoke at the meeting. Chandrashekar Shetty detailed on the steps to be taken to register the Parishat.
Also present were Tara Rao, Padmanabha Sasihitlu, Ashok Sasihitlu, Narayana Nadalike and B Balachandra Rao.
