Mangalore Dec 14: History was created at the district second additional civil court here as it used video conferencing facility for the first time to resolve a dispute on Wednesday December 13.

The case pertained to a certain Abdul Rehman, residing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who had filed a petition against his brother Khalid Ahmed for taking away his land using forged documents.

Rehman had alleged that the release deed was fake and the signatures on it were forged. Since Rehman could not be present at the hearing on December 13, his advocate P P Hegde had made a special request to the court to use video conferencing facility to record his statement.

As the facility was not available at the court, the video conferencing was done with the help of Mangalore Nirmal Reliance Info Services here.

The court-room was jam-packed with curious visitors wanting to watch the historic proceedings of the case.
