Beltangady: CM'S controversy over eating meat - Dharmasthala temple clarifies

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Oct 24: A controversy had been kicked up in the media over Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, visiting Lord Manjunatheshwara temple at Dharmasthala after eating meat. The chief minister had retorted that the Almighty had not instructed anyone not to eat non-vegetarian food before coming to temples.

Even as the issue is receiving lot of reactions both positive and negative, personal secretary to Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, M V Shetty, has sought to put to end to it.

Shetty has clarified that the temple does not have any rule which prohibits people from eating meat before entering temple. One hopes that with this clarification, the controversy stands addressed.

Why do the politicians visit temples?? If there was really heaven, they are the last people that would be allowed inside the heaven... even the lawyers would get entry before them.

Most (I mean 99.9) of them are arrogant, selfish, self-serving, narcissistic people.

Can you tell me is there any norms that you should not enter temple. Food is for our own body! Even we eat good food God will be happy too cos we are his creation.

Question of veg or non veg is matter of individuals prerogative. of course we all agree that consumption of non veg within the temple premises is not acceptable .But in this case CM consumed food at BC Road from there to reach Dharmastala minimum one hour is required so if he consumes and goes non veg bear in mind cm consumed fish which is the staple diet of Coastal people he has not violated any norms Further remember it takes minimum 60 to 70 hours for digestion of non veg food in that count those who visit Dharmastala must renounce non veg at least ,3 days before the visit. We must appreciate the temple authorities for clarifying the matter .The political parties and channels are unecessarily taking up issues. There are a lot of issues like development of roads rising prices and unemployment etc which is concern of common to be discussed and make the govt to work

Ancient temples were built by using a techinque called Agama Shastra. Temples are not only a places for prayer (not a prayer hall), but as a vortex of energy where, if people were receptive and willing, they could transform themselves in a very deep way.
The design and construction of these temples was fairly intricate, they were built according to a complex calculation involving physical and metaphysical elements. The parikrama(walkway into the temple), the garbha griha (the sanctum sanctorum), the shape and the size of the idol, the mudra held by the idol and the mantra used for the consecration of the temple, were all determined by the fundamental parameters of the design.
Non veg food is not sattvik, so can't be consumed before one visit a temple.

    Mr Ratan,
Then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has attributed his state's high rates of malnutrition to vegetarianism and figure-conscious Gujarati girls.
In an interview to The Wall Street Journal, an American news daily, Modi said, "The middle class is more beauty-conscious than health-conscious-that is a challenge."
"If a mother tells her daughter to have milk, they'll have a fight-she'll tell her mother, 'I won't drink milk. I'll get fat.'" he told the daily.
Gentleman, You must have forgot that then freedom fighter from Congress call 'Jai Kisaan, Jai Jawaan' India became self sustain which it imported from US. Under Modi regime daily staple of pulses are being imported from Africa on bogus company and sold to Indians thrice the purchase price.
Your immense bond to BJP has blinded you of real facts. For any development oriented government nearly four years in the office is enough to start producing results.
How long you need to be knowingly act like unknown? How many more poor Indians need to die for BJP politics?

Yesterday 'Cockroach' in the Indira canteen was deliberately put to defame the state government, today objections to Chief Minister's choice of food.
In BJP ruled Maharashtra under Chief Minister, one of the petitioners showed the court a reply received through the Right to Information (RTI) Act which said over 17,000 persons, including women and children, had died due to malnutrition after years of drought and withdrawal of state nutrition schemes.
According to FAO estimates in ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2017” report, 190.7 million people are undernourished in India. By this measure 14.5% of the population is undernourished in India. Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anaemic. Further according to the report 38.4% of the children aged under five in India are stunted (too short for their age), while 21% suffer from wasting, meaning their weight is too low for their height. Malnourished children have a higher risk of death from common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria. The Global Hunger Index 2016 ranks India at 97 out of 118 countries on the basis of three leading indicators prevalence of wasting and stunting in children under 5 years, under 5 child mortality rate, and the proportion of undernourished in the population.

Key facts about hunger in India

Largest India is home to the largest undernourished population in the world
14.5% of our population is undernourished
    190.7million people go hungry everyday
21.0% of children under 5 are underweight
38.4% of children under 5 years of age are stunted
    1 in 4 children malnourished
3,000 children in India die every day from poor diet related illness
24% of under-five deaths in India
30% of neonatal deaths in India
Instead of objecting on the plantain leaf of Chief Minister, BJP should seriously think what it can provide to malnourished citizens in his own state of Jharkhand and Maharashtra.

They were the ruling party whole of India for almost 50 years without break and almost 60 years out of 70 years
So what they have done for the welfare of the state in these years
Then come to the ruling of BJP is just years and you expect miracles to happen
    V strange argument
The mid Management of last so many years require a minimum of a decade to bring into right track then the real development states

The majority of temples are/were renovated by black money of corrupt people, to which the god is helpless. By the way surendra poojari's communal mind is only targeting BJP.

Hi Mahendra Shetty, years back I thought of becoming a Aghori sadhu; member of sect who worship Shiva, but backed out because of the following:

    1) They believe that Shiva created everything – they consider nothing to be bad. For this reason they engage in a variety of sexual practices, they drink alcohol, take drugs, and eat meat. Nothing is considered taboo.

    2) The more bizarre tradition is they are also practicing cannibals and their temples are cremation grounds - their clothing comes from the dead, his firewood comes from the funeral pyres, and food from the river. When a person is cremated, an Aghori will coat himself in the ashes of the body and meditate on the dead. The most shocking aspect of the Aghori life is their cannibalism. Dead bodies that are found floating in the river are gathered up and meditated on. The limbs are then removed by the Aghori and eaten raw.

I though my tradition is much superior than this (no offence intended please. I can provide a link if you wanna know more about Agori Sadhus).
