Mangalore: Alvas’ PU Students Win ‘Pre Unique 2008’

Mangalore, Nov 9: The students of Alvas’ Pre-University College, Moodbidri, won ‘Pre Unique 2008,’ a state-level inter pre-university intellectual and cultural fest, organized by St Aloysius Pre-University College on Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8.
Canara Pre-University College, bagged the runners-up award in the event. More than 500 students from 23 pre-university colleges of the state participated in the event and exhibited their talents in various categories.
Capt John Prasad Menezes, former president, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) distributed the prizes to the winners and said the younger generation has hundreds of opportunities in the world, if they have positive thoughts. One need not worry about global recession, he added.
Fr Francis Serrao, rector, St Aloysius institutions, presided over the function. He opined that winning was not important. The experience gained by participating will stand all students in good stead, he added.
Swebert D’Silva, principal of the college, convener of the programme Kishore D’Silva, president of students union Devika Gowri, and secretary Rohit Acharya, were among those present.
