Political dog fight erupts after Manmohan's Singh criticism of govt

New Delhi, Jun 22 (IANS): A war of words erupted between the ruling BJP and the Congress over former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the death of 20 Indian soldiers by Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Ladakh's Galwan valley.

The Congress hit out at BJP national President JP Nadda saying they should stop compromising on national security and India's territorial integrity as it would be the biggest disservice to the armed forces and asked not to buckle down.

The ward of words erupted between the Congress and the BJP after Manmohan Singh in a statement on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister saying "disinformation" on the Chinese transgression will be a "betrayal" to the sacrifice made by the Indian soldiers at the LAC and it was neither a "substitute for diplomacy" nor "decisive leadership".

Following Singh's statement, Nadda slammed the Congress for insulting the armed forces and also reminded it of questioning the valour of the forces by questioning the Balakor air strike in 2019 and Uri surgical strike in 2017.

Nadda took to twitter and wrote, "Dear Dr Singh and Congress party, please stop insulting our forces repeatedly, questioning their valour. You did this post the airstrikes and surgical strikes. Please understand the true meaning of national unity, especially in such times. It's never too late to improve."

Soon after Nadda's remarks, Congress national spokesperson and national media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala slammed the BJP chief and said, "Dear Nadda and the BJP, stop compromising on national security and India's territorial integrity.

"This would be the biggest disservice to our armed forces and our 20 martyrs. Don't buckle down, have the strength to rise to the occasion. We'll give the government every support," Surjewala said in a tweet.

Earlier in the day, after the former Prime Minister's statement, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi also said that 'hope government will accept his advice' in the interest of the country.

"Important advice by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. For the betterment of India, I hope the Prime Minister will accept it politely," he said in another tweet.

Anyone who questions the BJP gets insinuated as anti national and speculative talk emanates from their leaders about questioning the Armed Forces. No Govt Has politicised the Armed Forces like the BJP Govt only to win elections.

They have made caused a total mess with our relations with all our neighbours.

These incursions in the first place one must know it is as happening in America. It's previous Democrat government legalised liberal or communist ideology of same - sex marriages to morally corrupt and create divisions bring chaos in society then take advantage of all these along with their other racial, genders agenda / division to bring more chaos then bring more communist control then ruin economy with weapon grade virus to get more control before invasion. Without much military manoeuvre, invade and rule.

Unfortunately India also followed suit, it is like bringing communism inside. Now the they are taking advantage using these incursions to encroach more land.

When there is same-sex, abortion like anti life things are encouraged these things bound to happen as these against Divine law. That's why Russia (China) bars same-sex marriages but pushes same in other countries to make others subservient of them.

Even during the Manmohan Singh government, China reportedly sliced away 640 sq km of Indian territories across Depsang, Chumar and Pangong Tso.

Around 600 Chinese incursions were reported in three years from 2010 and 2013 of 10-year period of relative tranquility along the LAC.

On the contrary, the Modi government has been able to put across its rebuttal of China despite a record 18 meetings between Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping including informal summits to boost friendship.

A confident former prime minister said earlier that it has been his general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally at him.

"It has been my general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally t me. My general attitude has been Hazaaron Jawabon Se Acchi Hai Meri Khamoshi, Na Jaane Kitne Sawaalon Ki Aabru Rakhe."

Today when the most educated Prime Minister of India breaks his 'Khamoshi' , the BJP gets restless due to his spoken truth.

Manmohan Singh, calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's overnight ban on Rs 500 and 1,000 notes on November 8, 2016, an "ill-fated and ill-thought exercise", said "the havoc it unleashed on the Indian economy and society is now evident to everyone." The cash ban, he said, impacted every single person, regardless of age, gender, religion, occupation or creed.

"Beyond the steep drop in headline GDP growth numbers after demonetisation, the deeper ramifications of notebandi are still unraveling. Small and medium businesses that are the cornerstone of India's economy are yet to recover from the demonetisation shock," said the former prime minister, who is a noted economist.

"Scars Only Getting More Visible With Time": Manmohan Singh On Notes Ban.

To date deep scars of his true words is not healed for the BJP. Now this 'Maun Mohan' of BJP's questions on the national integrity it sprinkles the salt on the same wound.

Sir, To counter the Chinese propogganda yesteday Congress spokesperson Rajiv Tyagii said, "Political differences apart we are in full support to the Army and the government to counter Chinese propaganda and transgressions."

Sample these news stories from 2013, when India found itself in a stand-off with Chinese troops in Ladakh:

‘China’s interference in India is very serious. The nation should be told the truth. BJP is deeply concerned about the reported interference by China on the borders with India at quite deep level. It is a very serious matter,’ BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

“Rajnath Singh accused the UPA government of being casual in its approach towards Beijing. Talking about a protracted standoff between the two countries in 2013 summer after Chinese troops stayed in Indian territory of Dulat Beig Oldie for 21 days, Singh said that once the issue was settled through negotiations, ‘We were told both the armies have gone back to their earlier positions.’”

He added: “We want to know that if only Chinese troops had barged in, how was Indian army made to retreat and to where?”

“Terming the government’s approach towards China as ‘very weak’, BJP today asked the Centre to spell out steps being taken to tackle the danger arising out of the Chinese troops’ incursion in Ladakh. It said the government should tell the nation the truth about the issue and take the opposition also into confidence.

Now compare the statement given BJP and Congress in same scenario. The BJP leaders are still misguiding the nation. But Congress party stood with nation and silence the Chinese propoganda.

Anantha, - Putting India first means not accepting the enemy occupation? What you want to say? No one should ask the Govt, when Enemy country quoting our PM's words and announcing India occupied the area which is already of India? By your blindness you will not understand today what the grave mistakes Modi did and once our future generation start questioning you will beat the drums and play the flute

Is putting country first is accepting to what ruling party does! If thats the case then you are not correct! Hence if Congress is not asking the right corrections, atleast you ask ! What you say is correct, Indians put country first in difficult times! But most of these Indians are quiet and don't speak, rest are BJPians and Congressians!
