No Resentment over Portfolio Reshuffle: Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Sep 23 (PTI): A day after inducting six ministers and effecting a major reshuffle of portfolios, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today said there was no resentment over portfolio changes.
"There is no resentment or dissatisfaction among ministers over re-allocation of portfolios," Yeddyurappa told reporters here, adding that he was able to restructure the ministry due to cooperation of the Reddy brothers.
"Yesterday everything went on smoothly at the swearing-in ceremony. Without the support and cooperation of the Reddy brothers it would not have been possible for me to run the administration," he said.
Ignoring the warnings by ministers and mining magnates Janardhana and Karunakara Reddy, Yeddyurappa had sacked three ministers loyal to them a day before expanding the ministry.
The Reddy brothers, who had led a revolt against Yeddyurappa last year, had however softened their stand saying they would abide by the party decision.
Yeddyurappa said he would also effect changes in the district-in-charge ministers soon.
BJP sources said party President Nitin Gadkari had issued a stern warning to the Reddy brothers on September 21 against any dissident activity over dropping of their supporters.
