New Delhi, April 8 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday met President Pratibha Patil and said the government was making "all efforts" to resolve the differences with civil society activists demanding participation in the framing of a stronger anti-corruption bill.
The meeting lasted for about 35 minutes, according to a communique here.
"They discussed about various issues of national and international importance and also the president's forthcoming state visit to Mauritius," it said.
"The prime minister briefed the president about the efforts being made by the government to resolve the differences with the civil society activists on the proposed Lokpal Bill," it said.
Gandhian Anna Hazare is fasting in New Delhi for a stronger Lokpal Bill since Tuesday. A groundswell of support has come from all corners of India and abroad.
