Mangaluru: Tipper driver murder – Accused sentenced to life imprisonment

Mangaluru, Nov 1: First additional district and sessions court of the city awarded life sentence to Dinesh (32), resident of Modyanthadka Nyayatharpu and accused in the murder case of tipper driver Pradeep (36), resident of Shivajinagar of Kuvettu village in Guruvayanakere that occurred in 2017 at Kaliya village of Beltangady.

Dinesh verbally abused deceased Pradeep over some issue of work and later assaulted him with rod. Pradeep, who was seriously injured succumbed.

Justice Mallikarjuna Swamy H S, who conducted the inquiry awarded life sentence to accused Dinesh and slapped a fine of Rs 10,000. If the convict fails to pay the fine, he has to undergo one year of additional imprisonment. The judge also ordered to pay compensation to the mother of deceased Pradeep.

Former government prosecutor Shekara Shetty cross examined the witnesses. Judith M Crasta argued for the prosecution.
