Bantwal, Nov 4: “All the people including students should have the knowledge of history,” said Mysuru divisional journalism office senior assistant director Manjunath H L. He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day national symposium on the subject of the history of Dakshina Kannada that began here on Thursday November 3.

College development committee executive president Sandesh Shetty, Sangabettu gram panchayat president Sathish Poojary and college development committee president Rathnakumar Chowta were present. Resource person, journalist Mounesh Vishwakarma, Major Raghava B, Professor Narayana Nayak and professors from various colleges were present.

Kuvempu Bhasha Bharatiya former president Dr Girish Bhat welcomed. Symposium convener Dr Sundresh N gave an introduction. Co convener Hanumantayya, G H rendered a vote of thanks. Subhash Bangera compered the programme.
