Kundapur: Rajyotsava awardee Maranakatte Krishnamurthy felicitated

Kundapur, Nov 6: Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Maranakatte Krishnamurthy Manjari was given felicitation at his native place on the evening of November 5 on the campus of Chittoor government higher primary school.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishnamurthy said, “Money is not permanent. Philanthropy helps in difficult times. Religion says that every person should donate 16% of his income. I am not doing this work with any expectation. I am not into politics also. I will do this service till the end of my life. Rajyotsava award has increased my responsibility. I am grateful to the state government which has recognised my service. I am happy by the felicitation given by the people of my native place.

Presiding over the function, MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said, “Many people do charity. But the donation done without selfishness gives satisfaction. The charity done by Manjaru is seamless. He can be considered as the Karna of our village. Even if he is given national award we will not be surprised. Krishnamurthy Manjaru is a complete human being.”

Congratulating Krishnamurthy Manjaru, former chairman of legislative council K Pratapchandra Shetty said, “Krishnamurthy has given lots of contribution in educational, religious and social sectors. He has created a niche for himself in the art field of Hyderbad. Krishnamurthy suits selfless service.”

Former MLA Appanna Hegde, president of Management committee of Kollur temple Chandrashekhar Shetty Keradi, Heriditary administrative trustee of Maranakatte Sri Brahmalingeshwara temple Sadashiva Shetty, temple priest of Maranakatte M Sridhar Manjaru and Shanti Krishnamurthy Manjaru were present.

The felicitation committee was feted with a silver crown. Dr Atul Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering. Bhagavatha Raghavendra Mayya prayed in Yakshagana style. Journalist Chittoor Prabhakar Acharya read the felicitation letter. Vadamballi Jayarama Shetty proposed a vote of thanks. Damodara Sharma compered the event.
