Kanara Catholic Association (KCA) celebrates All Souls Day mass with comforting warmth

Media Release

Bengaluru, Nov 6: The Kanara Catholic Association (KCA) celebrated its annual Holy mass for the departed, on Saturday, November 5 at St Joseph’s Boys High School Chapel here.

Shanti Peres, vice president, welcomed the gathering. The well-attended service was celebrated by redemptorist Fr Juventius Andrade CSSR who comfortingly led the family members of the deceased in a sombre procession as they bore lit candles in memory of their loved ones.

Fr Andrade welcomed all by remembering the departed. His inspiring homily invited one and all to consider their own inevitable mortality as an opportunity to live fully and gracefully without the burden of anger and pain and in the promise of the resurrection with love being the driving force. Amid the beautiful floral arrangements, the ambience of the service was set with the choir, led by KCA secretary Coreen D’Souza Fareed, with well chosen, soul stirring hymns apt for reflection and reminiscence. The readings were done by members of the departed.

KCA treasurer, Ajay Jude Fernandes, thanked Fr Andrade for celebrating mass with his encouraging homily, and expressed gratitude to the sacristan, Gerard for his attendance, the choir, the musicians Adrian D’Souza and Samantha Pais, the sponsors for the flowers and offertory, the KCA committee for organizing and above all the KCA Member community who had congregated to make the evening successful.

The service ended in fellowship over well preffered refreshments while members fraternized and also came forward to share their genuine appreciation for the evening co-ordinated by Lunita Pais and Shanti Peres.
