Kundapur: Youth should not fall victim for Ganja – Justice Abdul Rahim Hussain Sheikh

Kundapur, Nov 8: “Youth should never fall victim to narcotics like ganja. They should be aware about its ill effects. If found in the campus of educational insitutions, the same should be brought to the notice of chief of the institution or concerned officials. The role of youth in building a healthy society is very important,” said Justice Abdul Rahim Hussain Sheikh, additional district and sessions court judge.

 

Justice Sheikh was speaking after flagging off the Walkathon against ganja that was held in the city under the joint aegis of Janaseva Trust Moodugiliyaru, Dr B B Hegde first grade college, government pre-university college, taluk legal services authority committee and bar association.

Senior civil judge justice Raju said, “Narcotics are a curse that is stuck to the society since time immemorial. Consumption of narcotics affects the development of society. Work of creating awareness about this should be done. Students should not fall victim to drugs. The work about informing public about drug mafia should be done continuously.”

Professor K Umesh Shetty, principal of Dr B B Hegde first grade college, Bannadi Somnath Hegde, president of Kundapur Bar association, Ramakrishna B G, principal of government junior college and Kiran Hegde, vice principal were present.

Udaya Shetty of Janaseva Trust Moodugiliyaru welcomed the gathering. Vasanatha Giliyaru did the introduction speech. Journalist K C Rajesh compered the event and rendered vote of thanks.

The walkathon which was flagged off from the campus of government junior college Kundapur, winded up at the same spot after going through new bus stand and Shastri Circle.
