Mangaluru, Nov 11: Congress leader Mithun Rai alleged that rampant corruption is going on under the administration of BJP-led state government. “There is zero percent development in the state. The BJP- led government is ruling through lies,” he said.

He was addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan on Friday November 11.

"Farmers have hit streets in Moodbidri demanding the government to fulfill various demands on November 10. The Congress party will support their agitation. If the government fails to fulfil their demands, the Congress party will hold a massive protest through Kisan Congress in Moodbidri on November 28. All farmers will take part in this agitation. This protest will be done keeping the interests of farmers in mind," he added.

He also demanded that the government should take necessary measures to allot land under Akrama Sakrama for the applicants under form 50, 53 and 57. “The government should provide title deeds of the land to the poor who have applied under 94C and 94CC,” he said.

He also alleged that agricultural land is being misused as it is being handed over to industries.

“The state government has failed to create employment opportunities for the youths in the district,” he said.

Former minister Abhayachandra Jain slammed the BJP-led state government and said, “The Congress-led government under Manmohan Singh had provided many employment opportunities for the youth.”

Congress leaders Valerian Sequeira and Rajesh Kadlakere were present.
