Mangaluru: Holy Mass held at Paldane church to pay tribute to late Fr G W Vas

Mangaluru, Nov 11: Fr Gregory William Vas (Fr G W Vas) founder of Paldane St Theresa of Kolkata parish passed away on October 26 after serving as the parish priest in the church for ten years.

A holy Mass was offered in the church at 8 am on November 11 for his soul. Fr Sylvester Miranda, the resident priest in his homily said that Fr Vas walked on the path of Jesus for 30 years, gave the light of Christ to his students and became a guide in their path. “Following his values will be a true tribute to him,” he said.

William Lobo, vice president of the parish pastoral council offered tributes to late Fr Vas on behalf of the parish commending his selfless service and concern to the poor. He said that Fr Vas inculcated in all the sectors that he served the principle of one heart and one mind and inspired the people to live in unity.

Parish priest Fr Alban D’ Souza thanked all the people who cooperated to hold the programme. Parish pastoral council secretary Austin Monteiro, Fourwinds advertisers’ director and media advisor Elias Fernandes, devotees of the parish and the nearby vicinity were present.
