Udupi, Nov 29: Manipal Inn Hotel and Convention centre held a cake mixing ceremony thus marking the beginning of Christmas season. The event was held in Manipal Inn hotel and convention centre located at Karavali bypass Udupi.

Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest Mother of sorrows church Fr Steevan Fernandes, director Youth commission diocese of Udupi and Trevor, UK based businessman along with other guests kick started the ceremony by mixing the dry fruits.

Speaking on the occasion Fr Charles Menezes, parish priest Mother of Sorrows church said, “Cake mixing is very popular in western countries. I am witnessing this event for the first time in coastal Karnataka today in Manipal inn hotel and convention Centre. It was a great experience to be part of this event. Let us celebrate Christmas with the amazing tasty cakes prepared”.

Sharing their experience in participating in a unique event of cake mixing, Laxmi, Melona, Riya and Delna, students of Manipal academy of higher education said, “This is the first occasion we are witnessing. It was a great experience. We were eager to take part in this ceremony. We thank Manipal inn hotel and convention center for this great opportunity”.

Sharing details about the cake mixing ceremony Anand, general manager Manipal inn hotel and convention center said, “This is the first cake mixing ceremony we had at Manipal inn hotel and convention center done by Chef Umesh and Chef Gowri. We hope to have a very good Christmas cake soon. We are looking forward to all your orders”.

Dolphy Mascharenhas, managing director Hot Chix chain of restaurants addressing the media said, “I had never seen it here in coastal Karnataka. I had witnessed it in European countries. It was a unique experience to partake in this program. Varieties of nuts, dry fruits were mixed. It will be blended and used for making cake. Manipal inn hotel and convention center is the favorite spot for many for its amazing food and hospitality. I request everyone to buy these cakes for the upcoming Christmas and new year season. It will be available in the Hot Chix counter in Udupi as well”.

Maulana Ibrahim, managing director Manipal inn hotel and convention center Umesh, executive chef staff and well wishers were present during the event.
