Mangaluru: Faithful offer prayers at Infant Jesus shrine on seventh day novena

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 11: At the Holy Shrine of the Infant Jesus in Bikarnakatte, nine masses were held on the seventh day of the novena, and special prayers were offered for the donors and well-wishers of the shrine.

The faithful were admonished to seek first the kingdom of God and assured that the rest of the things will follow, in accordance with the day's theme, "Where your wealth is, there your heart will also be." "God wants us to fully enjoy his presence and value him above all else. He does not want us to suffer or be poor. He wants us to put our complete trust in Him so that he can bestow upon us immeasurable blessings," the celebrant of the mass said.

There was Eucharistic adoration at noon and many believers prayed for various needs during this time. All the faithful were served a midday meal. In all, nine masses in Konkani, English, Malayalam, and Kannada will be held from 6 am to 7:30 pm until January 13. January 14 and 15 will be designated as the annual feast days.
