Mangaluru: Dr Jayarama Shetty of K S Hegde hospital dies of heart attack

Mangaluru, Jan 11: Dr Jayarama Shetty (53), a specialist of Radiation Oncology Cancer department at Deralakatte Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital passed away due to a heart attack on Wednesday, January 11.

He was a native of Dota Kolkebail in Parari of Gurupura and residing in Mangaluru.

He had obtained a medical postgraduate degree from KMC Medical College, Mangaluru and had served for more than a decade in the Radiation Oncology department. He had been serving in the Radiation Oncology department of Justice K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte for the last 11 years.

He had gone home on Wednesday evening after his duty and was getting ready to go for a programme when he suffered a heart attack. He died on the way to the hospital. He was active in social work and had helped several poor patients in their treatment.

Nitte (deemed to be university) chancellor N Vinay Hegde, management committee, Justice K S Hegde Hospital doctors and staff have condoled his death. He has left behind his wife Jyothi, daughter Veekshana, a large number of friends and relatives.
