Udupi, Jan 13: “Prajadhwani programme will be held at Udupi on January 22 in which 40 prominent leaders of the party will participate. The programme will be held as a prelude to elections,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

He was speaking in the meeting of Vandse block Congress committee workers at Hemmadi Mathsyajyothi auditorium.

“People in the state are tired of the BJP inciting communal tensions, price rise, corruption, playing with the lives of the poor and the failures of the  government. BJP has failed to respond to the needs of people during the Corona pandemic. A package was extended in Kerala but it had not been done in Karnataka. Compensation to the families who died of Corona has not been paid though the Supreme Court had ruled to that effect. The government is pursuing policies and helping the capitalists become richer. The administration of Brahmavar sugar factory has relegated its status to that of junk, ensuring that none of its remains was saved which is the contribution of the BJP government. The anxiety of the Kasturi Rangan report is rising. The government has no solution to it. Out of the murders that happened in the coastal region, the accused of the murders of Pravin Poojary, Kota double murders and that of Udaya Ganiga at Yadamoge were influential persons,” he said.

Former MLA K Gopala Poojary said there are no factions in Byndoor Vandse block Congress. “The party is strong at the booth level. Booth level meetings at Byndoor block are about to be completed. A village meeting will be held for 30 houses effectively and the party will go to the voters in the future,” he said.

“A large number of people from Byndoor and Vandse block are expected to participate in the Prajadhwani programme that will be held in Udupi. We will be taking out a rally from Tallur to Udupi,” he said.

District Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor said there are no cracks in the state Congress. “All the leaders are working for the party unity. Prajadhwani rally will travel across the state and 25,000 people will be participating in the programme at Udupi.

Former chief minister Siddaramaiah had implemented 99% of the promises that were made before the elections while the BJP government has not implemented even 100 promises out of 600 it had made. BJP is running the government only by spreading and talking falsehood,” he said.

Vandse block president Pradeep Kumar Shetty, chief secretary Sharath Kumar Shetty Balikere, district Congress member Raghurama Shetty, Raju Poojary, Devananda Shetty, Dr Yadav, IT cell’s Roshan Shetty, rural Congress’s Pandu, Jayarama, Nagappa Kothari Vadamballi, Jayarama Shetty, office-bearers of ladies Congress and youth Congress and party leaders were present.
